  I travel to Tallahassee for work often and whenever I have late meetings I always reserve a table at Shulas. The hotel is a fantastic meeting place and they offer valet parking. Shulas staff is knowledgeable and professional. The meals are consistently great and the bar is always fast.

  The food was great as always. We started off with the ahi tuna sashimi appetizer, off top of my mind because it's one of my favorites. I wasn't asked a size of appetizer but the server assumed I meant the large one, because that's what I was charged for -.-
  Also our table was avoided the entire time we were waiting for our food, even though our server stopped by every table around us to joke and carry on conversation with. We thought that was a bit strange, as we had a request to put in. But lo and behold, as soon as the check was presented, there was a lot of flattery going on and small attempts to start up a conversation. We will never be rude or disrespectful to anyone, nor will we ever not tip. But with that being said, from one ex server to another, one meaning of tips means To Insure Prompt Service. So instead of 20%, it was a little less, which coincidentally was almost the difference in price for the appetizer I ordered and the one he assumed for me.

  My wife and I, as well as many of our family members and friends have been dining here since they opened the doors. In the dozens and dozens of visits we have only had two steaks that were not to our liking--but both times the staff (tonight was JOE) and management far exceeded our expectations to make it right, without us asking for anything. This is why we continue to return time after time, and for nearly every special occasion. I only gave them five stars, because that's as high as they go.
